Abstract
IMD reduces the risk of postpartum hemorrhage, establishes an emotional bond between mother and baby. Colostrome is rich in nutrients and antibodies to increase the baby's immune system, helps the baby adapt and increases exclusive breastfeeding. Because the baby's sensory stimulation triggers brain activity and hormones, increasing maternal instincts. The main objective of this study was to determine the description of early breastfeeding initiation skills in mothers giving birth in the delivery room of Denpasar Hospital. In this study, a descriptive cross sectional method was used, implemented in March-April 2025 with an observation sheet (checklist) with consecutive sampling techniques, a sample of 56 people who met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that most skilled mothers 83.9% were between the ages of 20-35 years and were highly educated, working and multiparent, a small number were unskilled due to age, parity, education, social media work. lack of motivation and information.
