Abstract
DIFFERENCES IN KNOWLEDGE AMONG TEENAGE GIRLS BEFORE AND AFTER RECEIVING HEALTH EDUCATION USING AN EDUCATIONAL VIDEO ON MENARCHE A Study Conducted at Elementary School Number 3 Bitera in 2025 ABSTRACT Menarche is an important biological stage for adolescent girls that can trigger various emotional and psychological reactions. Lack of knowledge can cause discomfort and anxiety. Video media is the most engaging, dynamic, and efficient method to enhance knowledge. This study aims to determine the differences in knowledge of adolescent girls before and after receiving health education using educational videos about menarche at Elementary School Number 3 Bitera. The study design employs a pre-experimental approach with a one-group pretest- posttest design. The sampling technique uses total sampling, resulting 52 respondents. The instrument used is a questionnaire consisting of 20 multiple- choice questions to assess knowledge before and after the intervention. The educational video was played twice, with a 15-minute interval, the duration of this educational video is 11 minutes 3 seconds. Statistical analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results indicate that the median knowledge score of adolescent girls before the intervention was 65, increasing to 95 after the intervention. Additionally, the average knowledge score improved from 61.9 to 92.9. The Wilcoxon test showed Z = -6.314b and p-value = 0.001 (p < 0.05), meaning there is a significant difference between knowledge levels before and after the intervention. In conclusion, health education using educational videos about menarche is effective in improving adolescent girls' knowledge. Adolescent girls are advised to watch the educational video on menarche created by researchers, which has been uploaded to the YouTube channel. Media video merupakan metode yang paling menarik, dinamis, dan efisien untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pengetahuan remaja putri sebelum dan sesudah diberikan pendidikan kesehatan menggunakan video edukasi tentang menarche di SD Negeri 3 Bitera. Desain penelitian menggunakan pendekatan pre-eksperimental dengan one group pretest-posttest. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik total sampling menghasilkan 52 responden. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner berisi 20 butir soal multiple choice untuk mengukur pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Pemutaran video edukasi dilakukan sebanyak 2 kali dengan jeda 15 menit, video berdurasi 11 menit 3 detik. Analisis statistik menggunakan Uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank. Hasil analisis menunjukkan median pengetahuan remaja putri sebelum intervensi sebesar 65 meningkat menjadi 95 setelah intervensi. Selain itu rata-rata pengetahuan meningkat dari 61,9 menjadi 92,9. Uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan nilai Z=-6.314b dan p-value=0,001 (p<0,05), yang berarti ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Kesimpulannya, pendidikan kesehatan menggunakan video edukasi tentang menarche efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja putri.
