Abstract

Anxiety appeared in 26.8% of pregnant women and was more common in the third trimester (42.9%). The effects of anxiety can be harmful to both mother and fetus. This study aims to describe the level of anxiety before delivery in third trimester pregnant women at the UPTD Puskesmas II, West Denpasar District Health Office in 2021. The design of this research was descriptive quantitative observation with a cross sectional approach. The sample technique is purposive sampling so that the research sample is obtained as many as 74 pregnant women based on inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria. This research was conducted from April 8 to May 8, 2021. The results showed that most of the respondents were aged 20-35 years, had higher education status, were multiparous, did not work, had moderate income and had no history of pregnancy complications. Based on the level of anxiety, it is known that respondents experienced mild anxiety, namely 41 people (55.4%), moderate anxiety, namely 32 people (43.2%) and severe anxiety, namely 1 person (1.4%). The conclusion is that pregnant women in the third trimester before delivery experience more mild anxiety (55.4%) than moderate anxiety (43.2%) and severe anxiety (1.4%) so it is recommended for midwives to improve antenatal care services to prepare pregnant women. physically and mentally in the face of childbirth
