Abstract
RELATIONSHIP OF KNOWLEDGE AND PREPAREDNESS FOR CHOOSING CONTRACEPTION IN THIRD TRIMESTER PREGNANT WOMAN AT BALI MANDARA HOSPITAL ABSTRACT The postpartum contraceptive program is an effort made by the government to accelerate the reduction in maternal mortality in Indonesia. Contraception should be used before returning to sexual activity, therefore the readiness of the mother in choosing postpartum contraception is very important. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and readiness to choose postpartum contraception in third trimester pregnant women at Bali Mandara Hospital. Correlation analytic study with cross sectional design using a sample of 76 pregnant women trimester III who visited the Obgyn Clinic Bali Mandara Hospital who were selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria using purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed by nonparametric chi squre test at a significance level of α 0.05, the p value was 0.000 <0.05. This shows that there is knowledge regarding the readiness to choose postpartum contraception in third trimester pregnant women at Bali Mandara Hospital with an OR value of 22.82. It is hoped that health workers, especially midwives, can play an active role in providing information related to postpartum contraceptive methods so that pregnant women in the third trimester are better prepared to choose the contraceptive method to use.
