Abstract
Pregnancy is an event that is often encountered in a woman's life, which is a physiological condition followed by hormonal changes, affecting not only general health but also oral health. Oral health care in pregnant women is very useful for maintaining the condition of the fetus in order to keep growing and developing in a healthy and perfect manner, as well as preventing the birth of babies with abnormal weight or premature birth. Oral health care is important to minimize oral health problems during pregnancy. The purpose of this study to determine the behavior of dental and oral health care in pregnant women in Buleleng Regency in 2021. Types of research is a descriptive study. The total number of research respondents was 30 pregnant women. The data collected with a questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that respondents who brushing their teeth properly at least 2 times a day are 66.67%, brushing their teeth in the morning after breakfast and at night before going to bed as much as 26.67%, respondents who have the correct behavior in cleaning their toothbrushes after use are 53.33%, 60% of respondents have the correct behavior to put their toothbrush after cleaning, 46.67% of respondents have the correct behavior to change their toothbrush every 3-4 months, they have the habit of not using their toothbrush in turn with their husband or family as much as 100%, respondents behave 60% did not consume sweet and easy-to-stick foods every day, 80% of respondents had the right behavior to consume fruits and vegetables every day, 46.67% of the correct behavior was to chew food using the two sides of the jaw, 46.67% of the respondents had the correct behavior to check their teeth and mouth. Health center / dental clinic for at least 6 months as much as 26.67%. Conclusion: In general, the respondents of pregnant women in Buleleng Regency in 2021 have the correct behavior regarding the maintenance of oral health.
