Abstract

Anemia is condition characterized by hemoglobin levels in the blood falling below normal limits. During pregnancy, anemia can increase the risk of complications such as bleeding during pregnancy, childbirth, or postpartum, and can lead to maternal and perinatal mortality. This study aims to determine the effect of combined administration of iron supplements, vitamin C, and broiler chicken eggs on hemoglobin levels in pregnant women. This quasi-experimental research employed a pretest-posttest control group design. The study was involving 40 respondents divided into two groups: a control group and an intervention group, each consisting of 20 participants. Univariate data analysis was presented in frequency distributions, while bivariate analysis using the Independent T-test yielded a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference in the average increase in hemoglobin levels between the control and intervention groups after the intervention. The conclusion of the study is that there is an effect of giving a combination of iron tablets, vitamin C, and chicken eggs on the Hb levels of pregnant women. The suggestion is that pregnant women are advised to consume boiled chicken eggs while still consuming iron tablets and vitamin C given by midwives as an effort to improve nutritional status, especially in preventing anemia during pregnancy.
