Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP OF CULTURAL FACTORS WITH CHOICE OF COMPLEMENTARYAND ALTERNATIVE HEALTH SERVICES AT TRADITIONAL HEALTH MR. CHAI YEAR 2024 ABSTRACT Culture is a driving factor in the high percentage of choices for complementary and alternative health services. This study aims to determine the relationship between cultural factors and the choice of complementary and alternative health services at Mr. Chai Traditional Health Center in 2024. The research design used cross-sectional research with a population of 235 people and a sample size of 148 people using accidental sampling techniques. Data analysis was carried out using the Fisher's Exact Test and logistic regression. The results of the research show that technological factors, cultural values and lifestyle factors, economic factors, and educational level factors have a p value < α = 0.05. Meanwhile, religious factors and philosophy of life with social and kinship factors have a p value > α = 0.05. The Sig Wald value of 0.000 < 0.05 indicates that the dominant factor is the technological factor. Based on the research results, religious factors and philosophy of life with social and kinship factors have no relationship, this is because if we look at the data, not only one religion chooses complementary and alternative health services and the high level of individualism causes social interaction to be estranged and decision making tends to be own opinion. It is hoped that the results of this research can be used as a reference for understanding differences in cultural backgrounds in providing effective services, treatment and care. CHAI TAHUN 2024 ABSTRAK Budaya menjadi faktor pendorong terhadap tingginya persentase pemilihan layanan kesehatan komplementer dan alternatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan faktor budaya dengan pemilihan layanan kesehatan komplementer dan alternatif di Penyehat Tradisional Mr.Chai tahun 2024. Desain penelitian menggunakan cross-sectional dengan jumlah populasi 235 orang dan jumlah sampel 148 orang menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji Fisher’s Exact Test dan regresi logistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor teknologi, faktor nilai-nilai budaya dan gaya hidup, faktor ekonomi, dan faktor tingkat pendidikan mempunyai nilai p value < α = 0,05. Sedangkan faktor agama dan falsafah hidup dengan faktor sosial dan kekerabatan mempunyai nilai p value > α = 0,05. Nilai Sig Wald 0,000 < 0,05 menunjukkan faktor dominan adalah faktor teknologi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, faktor agama dan falsafah hidup dengan faktor sosial dan kekerabatan tidak memiliki hubungan hal ini dikarenakan jika dilihat dari data tidak hanya satu agama saja yang memilih layanan kesehatan komplementer dan alternatif serta masih tingginya sikap individualisme menyebabkan kerenggangan interaksi sosial dan pengambilan keputusan cenderung pada pendapat sendiri. Diharapkan hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan referensi untuk memahami perbedaan latar belakang budaya dalam memberikan pelayanan, pengobatan dan perawatan yang efektif.
