Abstract
ABSTRACT The incidence of reproductive track infection in adolescents (35%-42%) and young adults (27%-33%). The main causes reproductive track infections are weak immunity (20%), less menstrual hygiene (30%) and use of unhealthy pads (50%). This research purpose to prove that there is correlation of knowledge and personal hygiene practice by feemale teenager’s during menstruation in SMP Negeri 6 Denpasar. This research is a correlational analytic research with cross-sectional design. The sample used was an 8th grade female students who fulfilled the inclusion criteria as much of 73 respondents are taken as samples by applying propotional random sampling technique. The result show 57,5% respondents knew about personal hygiene during menstruation and 50,7% do not do personal hygiene during menstruation. Chi Square test result present 0,542 p value (p > 0,05). According, it can be concluded that there is no correlation of knowledge and personal hygiene practice by female teenager’s during menstruation. Furthermore, it isadvisable for female students to increase personal hygiene during menstruation in order to prevent reproductive health issues.
