Abstract
Oral and dental health is a fundamental part of general health and well-being. The dental and oral health of the Indonesian people is still relatively low and needs serious attention. The purpose of this study was to find out an overview of the knowledge of pregnant women in relation to the level of dental and oral hygiene of pregnant women visiting Bebandem health centers. This type of research is descriptive which uses a total population of 30 people. Data collected are primary data and secondary data. How to collect data about the description of knowledge about brushing teeth and OHI-S in pregnant women by means of direct tests and examinations on the cleanliness of teeth and mouth. The results of this study illustrate the knowledge of brushing teeth for pregnant women to obtain results with very good criteria are 2 people (6.7%), good criteria 7 people (23.3%), criteria are enough 18 people (60%), criteria less than 3 people ( 10%) and no failure category. and OHI-S with good criteria 4 people (13.3%), while 23 people (76.7%), less 3 people (10%). The conclusion of this research is a description of knowledge about brushing teeth and OHI-S in pregnant women who visited the Bebandem Health Center in 2019 including sufficient criteria.
