Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF TOOTHBRUSHING KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS BEFORE AND AFTER BEING GIVEN COUNSELING WITH THE SINGING METHOD (The study was conducted on students in grades IV and V of SD N 4 Melinggih in 2026) ABSTRACT Proportion of tooth brushing behavior in Indonesia in the 5-9 year age group is 93.2% brushing their teeth every day but as many as 1.4% brushing their teeth at the correct time, while in the 10-14 year age group as many as 96.5% brushing their teeth every day but as many as 2.1% brushing their teeth at the correct time. This study aims to determine the frequency and average knowledge and skills of tooth brushing students in grades IV and V of SD N 4 Melinggih before and after being given counseling with the singing method. This study uses a descriptive method with a survey approach. The number of respondents is 35 students. The results show that before counseling, the highest percentage of knowledge is 16 students (45.72%) with good criteria, after being given counseling, the highest percentage is 31 students (88.57%) with good criteria. The average knowledge before being given counseling is 74.71% with sufficient criteria and after being given counselling to 89.57% with good criteria. The highest percentage of skills before counseling was 29 students (82.86%) with the criteria of needing guidance and after being given counseling, 31 students (88.57%) with the criteria of very good. The average skill before counseling was 45.89% with the criteria of needing guidance and after counseling became 94.11% with the criteria of very good. It can be concluded that counseling with the singing method can in improving students' knowledge and skills of brushing their teeth. Keywords: Counseling, Knowledge, Skills, Brushing teeth. DESKRIPSI PENGETAHUAN DAN KETERAMPILAN MENYIKAT GIGI SEBELUM DAN SESUDAH DIBERIKAN PENYULUHAN DENGAN METODE BERNYANYI (Penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa kelas IV dan V SD N 4 Melinggih tahun 2026) ABSTRAK Proporsi perilaku menyikat gigi di Indonesia pada kelompok umur 5-9 tahun sebanyak 93,2% menyikat gigi setiap hari tetapi sebanyak 1,4% menyikat gigi dengan waktu yang benar, sedangkan pada kelompok umur 10-14 tahun sebanyak 96,5% menyikat gigi setiap hari tetapi sebanyak 2,1% menyikat gigi dengan waktu yang benar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui frekuensi dan rata-rata pengetahuan dan keterampilan menyikat gigi siswa kelas IV dan V SD N 4 Melinggih sebelum dan sesudah diberikan penyuluhan dengan metode bernyanyi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan survei. Jumlah responden sebanyak 35 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, sebelum penyuluhan, persentase pengetahuan tertinggi adalah 16 siswa (45,72%) dengan kriteria baik, setelah diberikan penyuluhan, persentase tertinggi adalah 31 siswa (88,57%) dengan kriteria baik. Rata-rata pengetahuan sebelum diberikan penyuluhan adalah 74,71% dengan kriteria cukup dan setelah diberikan penyuluhan menjadi 89,57% dengan kriteria baik. Persentase keterampilan tertinggi sebelum penyuluhan adalah 29 siswa (82,86%) dengan kriteria perlu bimbingan dan setelah diberikan penyuluhan, 31 siswa (88,57%) dengan kriteria sangat baik. Rata-rata keterampilan sebelum penyuluhan adalah 45,89% kriteria perlu bimbingan dan setelah penyuluhan menjadi 94,11% kriteria sangat baik. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penyuluhan dengan metode bernyanyi dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan menyikat gigi siswa. Kata kunci: Penyuluhan, Pengetahuan, Keterampilan, Menyikat gigi.
