Abstract

The Effect Educational Learning by Using Crossword Puzzle Games Media Toward Students Knowledge of Preparedness Encountering Earthquakes and Tsunami Disaster at SDN 1 Subagan Karangasem in 2021 ABSTRACT Indonesia is included in a country prone to earthquake and tsunami disasters. Children are a group vulnerable to the impact of disasters, so it is important to provide disaster education to children as an effort to save themselves. The efforts made is increasing knowledge about disaster preparedness. This study provides education to students using the TTS game media which contains material questions related to preparedness measures in the face of earthquake and tsunami disasters. This study aims to determine the effect educational learning by using crossword puzzle games media toward students knowledge of preparedness encountering earthquakes and tsunami disaster. This research is a pre-experimental design with design use One-Group Pretest-Posttest using total sampling technique. The number of samples was 52 people. Data collection was carried out using earthquake and tsunami disaster preparedness questionnaires. The results showed that the value of knowledge before the treatment category was less as many as 29 people (55.8%) and after the good category treatment was 50 people (96.2%). The results of the study were tested with the willcoxon test and it was obtained Sig. = 0.000 <alpha (0.05). This indicates the effect educational learning by using crossword puzzle games media toward students knowledge of preparedness encountering earthquakes and tsunami disaster at SDN 1 Subagan Karangasem in 2021. Recommended for school teachers to increase the provision of disaster education by using the development of other similar game media. Keywords: knowledge, preparedness, crossword puzzle games
