Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HOUSEWIVES' KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE WITH THE USE OF PLASTIC SHOPPING BAGS AT SIDAKARYA MARKET IN 2026 ABSTRACT Sidakarya Market one of the traditional markets in Denpasar City where the use of plastic shopping bags remains high despite the implementation of Bali Governor Regulation Number 97 of 2018 concerning the Restriction of Single-Use Plastic Waste. The community's habit of using plastic shopping bags, along with their continued availability from vendors, is considered to contribute to their high usage. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes of housewives and use of plastic shopping bags at Sidakarya Market in 2026. This study employed a quantitative cross-sectional design involving 70 housewives as respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and direct observation, then analyzed using the Chi-square test. The results showed that 37.1% of respondents had a good of knowledge, 48.6% had negative attitudes toward reducing the use of plastic shopping bags, and 61.4% still used plastic shopping bags. There was no significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the use of plastic shopping bags (p-value = 0.191). There was a significant relationship between attitudes and the use of plastic shopping bags (p-value = 0.000). It is recommended that market management strengthen continuous public education and encourage use of reusable shopping bags. Keywords: knowledge, attitudes, plastic shopping bags   HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP IBU RUMAH TANGGA DENGAN PENGGUNAAN KANTONG PLASTIK BELANJA DI PASAR SIDAKARYA TAHUN 2026 ABSTRAK Pasar Sidakarya merupakan salah satu pasar tradisional di Kota Denpasar yang masih menunjukkan tingginya penggunaan kantong plastik belanja meskipun telah diterapkan Peraturan Gubernur Bali Nomor 97 Tahun 2018 tentang Pembatasan Timbulan Sampah Plastik Sekali Pakai. Kebiasaan masyarakat menggunakan kantong plastik belanja serta masih tersedianya kantong plastic belanja dari pedagang diduga berkontribusi terhadap tingginya penggunaannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap ibu rumah tangga dengan penggunaan kantong plastik belanja di Pasar Sidakarya Tahun 2026. Penelitian menggunakan desain cross sectional dengan sampel 70 ibu rumah tangga. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan observasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat pengetahuan kategori baik sebesar 37,1%, sikap negatif sebesar 48,6%, dan penggunaan kantong plastik sebesar 61,4%. Tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat pengetahuan dengan penggunaan kantong plastik belanja (p-value = 0,191), sedangkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara sikap dengan penggunaan kantong plastik belanja (p-value = 0,000). Pengelola pasar disarankan meningkatkan sosialisasi dan mendorong penggunaan tas belanja ramah lingkungan. Kata kunci: pengetahuan, sikap, kantong plastik belanja
