Abstract
Pain during the active phase of first stage labor is a physiological process caused by cervical dilation, uterine muscle hypoxia during contractions, uterine corpus ischemia, stretching of the lower uterine segment, and cervical nerve compression. Pain intensity varies between women. Pain during labor can cause trauma to the mother, and high levels of labor pain can also cause anxiety, especially in primigravida women who have not yet experienced pain management. This study aims to describe the level of pain during the active phase of first stage of labor at TPMB Ni Made Chiryaningsih. The research method used is descriptive to evaluate the level of pain experienced.
