Abstract

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BODY MASS INDEX AND URIC ACID LEVELS BEFORE AND AFTER WORKING OF SALT FARMERS IN KUSAMBA VILLAGE, KLUNGKUNG ABSTRACT Background: High uric acid levels in the body or hyperuricemia is one of the health problems that often occur in society today. One of the risk factors that can cause increased uric acid levels is high body mass index. Objective: To determine the relationship between body mass index and uric acid levels before and after work of salt farmers in Kusamba Village, Klungkung. Method: Quantitative research type with cross-sectional design, consisting of 21 respondents with saturated sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by observation, measuring body weight and height and examining uric acid levels using the POCT method. Data analysis using the chi square test. Results: This study shows that out of 21 respondents, 47.6% have a body mass index in the obesity category and 76.2% of respondents have high uric acid levels. And for the average results obtained between body mass index and uric acid levels before and after work, there is a small difference found. From the chi square test analysis. shows a sig value <0.05 so that the hypothesis is accepted. Conclusion: There is a relationship between body mass index and uric acid levels before and after work of salt farmers in Kusamba Village, Klungkung. Keywords: Body mass index, gout HUBUNGAN INDEKS MASSA TUBUH DENGAN KADAR ASAM URAT SEBELUM DAN SESUDAH BEKERJA PARA PETANI GARAM DESA KUSAMBA KLUNGKUNG ABSTRAK Latar Belakang : Kadar asam urat yang tinggi didalam tubuh atau hiperurisemia merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan yang sering terjadi di masyarakat saat ini. Salah satu faktor risiko yang dapat menyebabkan peningkatan kadar asam urat yakni indeks massa tubuh yang tinggi. Tujuan : Mengetahui hubungan antara indek massa tubuh dengan kadar asam urat sebelum dan sesudah bekerja para petani garam Desa Kusamba Klungkung. Metode : Jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain cross sectional, terdiri dari 21 responden dengan teknik sampling jenuh. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, pengukuran berat badan dan tinggi badan serta pemeriksaan kadar asam urat dengan metode POCT. Analisis data menggunakan uji chi squre. Hasil : Penelitian ini menunjukan dari 21 responden 47,6% memiliki indeks massa tubuh dalam kategori obesitas dan 76,2% responden memiliki kadar asam urat tinggi. Dan untuk hasil rerata yang didapat antara indeks massa tubuh dan kadar asam urat sebelum dan sesudah bekerja terdapat kecil perbedaan yang ditemui. Dari analisis uji chi squre. menunjukkan nilai sig < 0,05 sehingga hipotesis diterima. Simpulan : Terdapat hubungan antara indeks massa tubuh dengan kadar asam urat sebelum dan sesudah bekerja para petani garam Desa Kusamba Klungkung. Kata kunci : Indeks massa tubuh, asam urat
