Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF TOOTHBRUSHING KNOWLEDGE AND THE OCCURRENCE OF PERMANENT DENTAL CARIES FOR GRADE V STUDENTS OF SD 13 DAUH PURI DENPASAR IN 2025 ABSTRACT One of the causes of ignoring dental and oral health problems is the knowledge factors. The ability to brush teeth properly and correctly is a fairly important factor for dental and oral health care. If you do not pay attention to dental and oral hygiene, it can cause dental caries. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of knowledge about brushing teeth and the occurrence of permanent dental caries of grade V students of SD 13 Dauh Puri Denpasar in 2025. This type of research is a descriptive study with a survey design. The results of the study of 34 students showes that the level of knowledge with the category of very good was 17.65%, good as much as 41.18%, sufficient as much as 26.47%, lacking as much as 14.71% and very lacking as much as 0%. The average level of knowledge about brushing teeth was 61.91 with a good category. The percentage of students who experienced dental caries was 52.94%. The average permanent dental caries was 0.65 with a very low category. The average of permanent tooth caries based on the level of knowledge is the most, namely one in respondents with a level of knowledge in the category of less, and no respondents have tooth caries in respondents with a level of knowledge in the criteria of very good. The conclusion of this study is that the frequency of knowledge of brushing teeth is the most in the good category, the average knowledge of brushing teeth with a good category, the frequency of experiencing tooth caries is 18 students, the average tooth caries with a very low category, the average tooth caries is the most based on the level of knowledge in the category of less. GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN MENYIKAT GIGI DAN TERJADINYA KARIES GIGI PERMANEN SISWA KELAS V SD 13 DAUH PURI DENPASAR TAHUN 2025 ABSTRAK Salah satu penyebab mengabaikan masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut adalah faktor pengetahuan. Kemampuan menyikat gigi secara baik dan benar merupakan faktor yang cukup penting untuk perawatan kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Apabila kurang memperhatikan kebersihan gigi dan mulut sehingga menyebabkan karies gigi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan menyikat gigi dan terjadinya karies gigi permanen siswa kelas V SD 13 Dauh Puri Denpasar Tahun 2025. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan desain survei. Hasil penelitian terhadap 34 siswa menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan dengan kategori baik sekali sebanyak 17,65%, baik sebanyak 41,18%, cukup sebanyak 26,47%, kurang sebanyak 14,71% dan sangat kurang sebanyak 0%. Rata-rata tingkat pengetahuan tentang menyikat gigi sebesar 61,91 dengan kategori baik. Persentase siswa yang mengalami karies gigi sebesar 52,94%. Rata-rata karies gigi permanen sebesar 0,65 dengan kategori sangat rendah. Rata-rata karies gigi permanen berdasarkan tingkat pengetahuan paling banyak yaitu sebanyak satu pada responden dengan tingkat pengetahuan kategori kurang, dan tidak ada responden, yang memiliki karies gigi pada responden dengan tingkat pengetahuan kriteria baik sekali. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah frekuensi pengetahuan menyikat gigi paling banyak kategori baik, rata-rata pengetahuan menyikat gigi dengan kategori baik, frekuensi yang megalami karies gigi sebanyak 18 siswa, rata-rata karies gigi dengan kategori sangat rendah, rata-rata karies gigi terbanyak berdasarkan tingkat pengetahuan kategori kurang.
