Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PERIOD OF USE 3-MONTH INJECTABLE CONTACEPTION WITH TOTAL CHOLESTEROL LEVELS OF ACCEPTORS AT THE SUSUT II BANGLI HEALTH CENTER ABSTRACT Background Depo Medroxy Progesterone Acetate contraceptives when used for a long period of time will have an adverse effect on health. The hormone progesterone can affect changes in lipid metabolism. Elevated serum total cholesterol levels may be a risk factor for several diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the period of use of 3-month injectable contraceptives with total cholesterol levels of acceptors at the Susut II Bangli Health Center. The method used was an analytic survey with a cross sectional approach. With a total sample of 44 samples of 3-month injectable contraceptive acceptors, which were divided into 2 groups, namely long and short term with non-probability sampling techniques.
