Abstract

THE EFFECT OF FLIP CHART MEDIA HEALTH EDUCATION ON THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE OF THE DANGERS OF SMOKING IN PREVENTING ISPA IN PARENTS WHO HAVE TODDLERS ABSTRACT ARI stands for Acute Respiratory Tract Infection, which refers to a collection of diseases that affect the upper and lower respiratory tract. Acute respiratory infections (ARI) are the leading cause of morbidity and mortality from infectious diseases worldwide. The incidence of ARI shows fluctuating numbers every year. The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence flip chart media health education has on the level of knowledge of the dangers of smoking in preventing ARI in parents who have toddlers in the Banjarangkan II community health center work area. The research method used is Pre-experiment with the type of One-Group Pre test-Post test Design. The sampling technique used was nonprobability sampling with incidental sampling in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria with a sample size of 252 respondents. Data collection using a questionnaire sheet. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon non-parametric statistical test, the p-value at sig. (2- tailed) of 0.001 (p < 0.05). There was an increase in knowledge value after being given health education by 24.96%. The results of this statistical test prove that there is an increase in the value of knowledge level after being given flip chart media health education about the dangers of smoking in preventing ARI in parents who have toddlers in the working area of Banjarangkan II community health center. Keywords: Health Education, Dangers of Smoking, ARI Prevention PENGARUH PENDIDIKAN KESEHATAN MEDIA FLIP CHART TERHADAP TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN BAHAYA MEROKOK DALAM MENCEGAH ISPA PADA ORANG TUA YANG MEMILIKI BALITA ABSTRAK ISPA adalah singkatan dari Infeksi Saluran Pernapasan Akut, yang mengacu pada kumpulan penyakit yang menyerang saluran pernapasan bagian atas dan bawah. Infeksi saluran pernapasan akut (ISPA) adalah penyebab utama morbiditas dan mortalitas akibat penyakit menular di seluruh dunia. Angka kejadian ISPA menunjukkan angka yang fluktatif disetiap tahunnya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan media flip chart terhadap tingkat pengetahuan bahaya merokok dalam mencegah ISPA pada orang tua yang memiliki balita di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Banjarangakan II. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Pre-experiment dengan jenis One-Group Pre test-Post test Design. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah nonprobability sampling dengan insidental sampling yang sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 252 responden. Pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar kuesioner. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik non parametrik Wilcoxon, didapatkan hasil nilai p-value pada sig. (2- tailed) sebesar 0,001 (p < 0,05). Terdapat peningkatan nilai pengetahuan setelah diberikan pendidikan kesehatan sebesar 24,96%. Hasil uji statistic ini membuktikan bahwa ada peningkatan nilai tingkat pengetahuan setelah diberikan pendidikan kesehatan media flip chart mengenai bahaya merokok dalam mencegah ISPA pada orang tua yang memiliki balita di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Banjarangkan II.
