Abstract

THE EFFECT OF NATURE-SOUND THERAPY BASED ON BALINESE GAMELAN ON DEPRESSION LEVELS IN DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS IN THE WORK AREA UPTD PUSKESMAS BLAHBATUH I ON 2024 ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disorder that arises due to impaired insulin function. This can increase the risk of depression patients, which will affect their quality of life. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Balinese Instrument-Based Nature-Sound Therapy on depression levels in diabetes mellitus patients at the UPTD Puskesmas Blahbatuh I in 2024. This study used a pre-experimental approach with a one-group pre-post test design. The sample was selected using probability sampling technique, with simple random sampling involving 30 respondents. The research instrument used was the Depression Scale. The results showed that before the treatment, 22 respondents (73.3%) moderate depression, while 8 people (27.7%) low depression. After treatment, there was a decrease in the number of respondents with moderate depression 8 people (26.7%), and respondents with low depression 16 people (53.3%), and 6 people (20%) were normal. Normality test with Shapiro-Wilk and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test on the hypothesis shows there’s a significant difference before and after treatment p-value = <0.001 alpha (<0.05). These results indicate that there’s an effect of Balinese Instrument-Based Nature-Sound Therapy on reducing the level of depression of patients with diabetes mellitus in the UPTD Puskesmas Blahbatuh I on 2024. Hal ini dapat meningkatkan risiko depresi pada penderita, yang akan mempengaruhi kualitas hidup mereka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh Nature-Sound Therapy Berbasis Gamelan Bali terhadap penurunan tingkat depresi pasien diabetes mellitus di wilayah kerja UPTD Puskesmas Blahbatuh I Tahun 2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan pre-experimental dengan desain one-group pre-post test. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik probability sampling, yaitu simple random sampling dengan melibatkan 30 orang responden. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah Skala Depresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebelum perlakuan nature sound therapy berbasis gamelan Bali, responden sebanyak 22 orang (73,3%) mengalami depresi sedang, sementara 8 orang (27,7%) mengalami depresi rendah. Setelah diberikan perlakuan, terjadi penurunan jumlah responden yang mengalami tingkat depresi sedang 8 orang (26,7%), dan responden yang mengalami tingkat depresi rendah 16 orang (53,3%), serta sejumlah 6 orang (20%) normal. Uji normalitas dengan uji Shapiro-Wilk dan Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test pada hipotesisnya menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan (p-value = <0,001) alpha <0,05). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh Nature-Sound Therapy Berbasis Gamelan Bali terhadap penurunan tingkat depresi pasien diabetes mellitus di wilayah kerja UPTD Puskesmas Blahbatuh I Tahun 2024.
