Abstract

THE EFFECT OF GUIDED IMAGERY ON THE LEVEL OF DEPRESSION IN DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS AT UPTD PUSKESMAS I DENPASAR SELATAN YEAR 2023 ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus is a dangerous health problem and is still listed as a cause of death in the world. Patients with diabetes mellitus are at high risk of experiencing depression and ultimately worsening self-care. Therefore psychological treatment is carried out, one of which is guided imagery.The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of guided imagery on depression in diabetes mellitus patients at UPTD Health Center I South Denpasar in 2023. This study used a pre-experimental method with a one-group pre-post test design. The sampling technique used non-probability purposive sampling with a sample of 32 people. The research instrument used the Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II). The normality test uses the Shapiro Wilk test. Hypothesis testing using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed that the level of depression in patients with diabetes mellitus before being given guided imagery, most of the patients experienced moderate depression, 17 people (53.1%) then the level of depression in patients with diabetes mellitus after being given guided imagery showed that most patients with diabetes mellitus experienced mild depression, numbering 24 people ( 75.0%). After being analyzed, the results obtained were p-value = 0.003 (p <0.050). The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant effect of guided imagery on depression in diabetes mellitus patients at UPTD Health Center I South Denpasar in 2023. Paien Diabetes mellitus berisiko tinggi mengalami depresi dan akhirnya memperburuk perawatan diri. Oleh karena itu dilakukan penanganan psikologis, salah satunya dengan guided imagery. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh guided imagery terhadap depresi pada pasien diabetes mellitus di UPTD Puskesmas I Denpasar Selatan tahun 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimental dengan rancangan one-group pra-post test design. Teknik sampling menggunakan non-probability berjenis Purposive Sampling dengan sampel 32 orang. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II). Uji normalitas menggunakan uji Saphiro wilk. Uji hipotesis menggunakan Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat depresi pada pasien diabetes mellitus sebelum diberikan guided imagery sebagian besar pasien mengalami depresi sedang sejumlah 17 orang (53.1%) kemudian tingkat depresi pada pasien diabetes mellitus sesudah diberikan guided imagery menunjukan sebagian besar pasien diabetes mellitus mengalami depresi ringan sejumlah 24 orang (75,0%). Setelah dianalisis didapatkan hasil p-value= 0,003 (p<0,050). Simpulan penelitian ini adalah ada pengaruh yang signifikan guided imagery terhadap depresi pada pasien diabetes mellitus di UPTD Puskesmas I Denpasar Selatan Tahun 2023.
