Abstract

Based on data from Basic Health Research for Bali province in 2018, Denpasar is a city that has the highest prevalence of Chronic Energy Deficiency among young women in the Bali province. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between physical activity and energy consumption levels with Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) in young women in Pemecutan Klod Village, West Denpasar. The type of research used was an analytical research with a cross-sectional survey design. This research was conducted in December 2022 in Pemecutan Kelod Village, West Denpasar District. The sample of this research is 92 samples. The sample determination method used is Cluster Sampling by selecting five banjars and then determining the number of samples proportionally. Data collection related to CED status was carried out by measuring the circumference of the upper arm. Data about physical activity was collected using a physical activity questionnaire. Energy consumption level data was collected by interview method using the SQ-FFQ questionnaire. The data that has been collected is then processed according to predetermined categories and analyzed using the SPSS application. Analysis of the data used is Spearman correlation test with α = 0.05. Based on the research conducted, it was found that most of the samples have a strenuous level of physical activity as many as 13% moderate physical activity level as many as 66,3% and light physical activity level as many as 20,7%. Based on the level of energy consumption it was found that 52,2% have a deficit energy consumption level, 2,2% have a good energy consumption level, and 45,7% have a low energy consumption level. Most of the samples were in CED conditions as many as 56,5% while the rest were not in CED conditions as many ad 43,5% Based on the statistical analysis test, the results showed that there was a significant relationship between physical activity and CED status (p) = 0.000 < α (0.05). In addition, the results also show that there is a significant relationship between the level of energy consumption and CED status (p) = 0.002 < α (0.05).
