Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP OF SELF-EFFICIENCY WITH DIET COMPLIANCELOW SALT AND BLOOD PRESSURE ON HYPERTENSION PATIENTS IN THE WORK AREA UPT PUSKESMAS KUTA UTARA ABSTRACK Self-efficacy is an individual's belief in his ability to produce the desired action. Low self-efficacy tends to affect non-compliance in implementing a low-salt diet and poor blood pressure control in hypertension patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and adherence to a low-salt diet and blood pressure in hypertensive patients in the working area of the UPT Puskesmas Kuta Utara. This type of research is observation with a "cross sectional" design. The sample size in this study was 42 people. Data was collected using a General Self Efficacy Scale questionnaire and interviews using a 2x24 hour recall form. The data was processed by statistical analysis of Spearman Rank correlation. Of the 23 samples who adhered to the diet, 12 samples (52.2%) had high self-efficacy and from 19 who did not adhere to the diet, 13 samples (68.4%) had low self-efficacy. Of the 18 samples with controlled blood pressure, 10 samples (55.5%) had high self-efficacy and 24 samples had uncontrolled blood pressure, as many as 16 samples (45.2%) had low self-efficacy. significant tariff p = <0.05, the result is p = 0.004, and p = <0.05, the result is p = 0.002. It was concluded that there was a relationship between Self-Efficacy and Compliance with a Low-Salt Diet and Blood Pressure in hypertensive patients in the working area of UPT Puskesmas Kuta Utara.
