Abstract
WHO data in 2020 showed more than 40% of infants in Indonesia were introduced to complementary foods before they reached the age of 6 months. Many factors influence the success of exclusive breastfeeding, one of which is husband's support. This study aims to determine the relationship between husband's support and exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of the Rendang Health Center. The type of this research is analytic observational with a cross sectional research design, univariate analysis using frequency distribution table with percentage and bivariate analysis using Chi Square. The respondents were fathers who had babies aged 6-12 months as many as 81 respondents who met the criteria. This research conducted in April – May 2022. Collecting data using a questionnaire. The results showed most of the respondents 54.3% gave exclusive breastfeeding and 51.9% of respondents supported exclusive breastfeeding. Chi-Square test obtained a p-value of 0,000 indicating that there is a significant relationship between husband's support and exclusive breastfeeding. Health workers are expected to improve counseling about the importance of husband's support in exclusive breastfeeding so that public knowledge increases and the target for achieving exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of the Rendang Health Center can be fulfilled.
