Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT DENTAL CARIES AND SNACK FOOD HABITS IN STT MAJA YOWANA PEMOGAN VILLAGE SOUTH DENPASAR IN 2022 ABSTRACT Dental caries is a disease of dental issue characterized by tissue of damage, which starts from the surface of the tooth and then extends to the soft tissue located in the middle of the tooth (pulpa). Knowledge is the result of knowing and occurs after someone does a certain object through its senses. The purpose of this study to describe the knowledge about dental caries and snack food habits in STT. Maja Yowana Pemogan Village, South Denpasar in 2022. This type of research is descriptive using 40 respondents. The data collected are primary data and secondary data. The result of this research shows that the highest of knowledge about dental caries is in the sufficient category as much as 65% (26 people). The average knowledge about dental caries is 72.25 with sufficient category. The of most teenagers who have the habit of snacks food , namely cakes in the medium category (4-6 times a day) is 57.5% (23 people). The conclusion of this study is that most of the adolescents have sufficient knowledge about dental caries and the habit of snacks food, namely cakes with moderate criteria. Keywords: knowledge about dental caries, snacks, and teenagers GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN TENTANG KARIES GIGI DAN KEBIASAAN MAKAN SNACK PADA STT MAJA YOWANA DESA PEMOGAN DENPASAR SELATAN TAHUN 2022 ABSTRAK Karies gigi adalah penyakit jaringan gigi yang ditandai dengan kerusakan jaringan, yang dimulai dari permukaan gigi lalu meluas ke arah jaringan lunak yang terletak di tengah-tengah gigi (pulpa). Pengetahuan merupakan hasil dari tahu dan terjadi setelah seseorang melakukan suatu objek tertentu melalui penginderaan yang dimilikinya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan tentang karies gigi dan kebiasaan makan snack pada STT. Maja Yowana Desa Pemogan Denpasar Selatan tahun 2022. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif yang menggunakan responden sebanyak 40 orang. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Hasil penelitian ini adalah pengetahuan tentang karies gigi terbanyak yaitu dengan kategori cukup sebanyak 65% (26 orang). Rata-rata pengetahuan tentang karies gigi yaitu 72,25 dengan kategori cukup. Sebagian besar remaja yang mempunyai kebiasaan makan snack yaitu kue dengan kategori sedang (4-6 kali dalam sehari) sebanyak 57,5% (23 orang). Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah sebagian besar remaja memiliki pengetahuan tentang karies gigi dengan kategori cukup dan kebiasaan makan snack yaitu kue dengan kriteria sedang.
