Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDES OF BREASTFEEDING MOTHERS REGARDING PERSONAL HYGIENE BEFORE BREASTFEEDING DURING THE PANDEMIC AT THE SOUTH KUTA HEALTH CENTER ABSTRACK Personal Hygiene is one way that must be maintained to prevent transmission of COVID-19, especially for breastfeeding mothers before breastfeeding their babies. This research was conducted at Puskesmas Kuta Selatan. The purpose of this study was to describe the knowledge and attitudes of breastfeeding mothers regarding personal hygiene before breastfeeding during the pandemic. The method used in this study is a survey method. Implementation from March-April 2021 with purposive sampling technique. The sample amounted to 50 people. The instrument used was a questionnaire in the form of google form with a total of 13 questions and 10 statements. The analysis used is univariate analysis in the form of frequency distribution. The results showed that of the 50 respondents, all respondents (100.0%) had good knowledge. The attitude of breastfeeding mothers shows that 25 respondents (50.0%) have positive attitudes and 25 respondents (50.0%) have negative attitudes. Knowledge and attitudes are influenced by several factors including age, education, occupation, social environment, mass media. Educational institutions are expected to produce midwives with good communication skills, health services are expected to carry out health promotions related to the personal hygiene of breastfeeding mothers, breastfeeding mothers are expected to be proactive in obtaining information about hygiene and further researchers are expected to carry out more in-depth research and conduct bivariate analysis between knowledge and knowledge. attitudes of breastfeeding mothers regarding personal hygiene.
