Abstract

Hypertension is a condition in which the blood pressure in the blood vessels increases for a long time. Self care management is the ability of individuals to carry out self-care activities to sustain life, improve and maintain individual health and well-being. The purpose of this study was to identify self-care management of hypertension in the Puskesmas Mengwi II. This type of research is descriptive using cross sectional design. The number of samples used in this study were 58 samples. The results showed that self-care management in hypertensive patients based on self-integration with adequate categories was 42 people (72.4%), self-care management in hypertensive patients based on self-regulation with sufficient categories was 33 people (56.9%), self-care management of hypertensive patients based on interactions with health workers and others with sufficient categories as many as 28 people (48.3%), self-care management for hypertensive patients based on blood pressure monitoring with a sufficient category of 26 people (44.8%) and self-care management in hypertensive patients based on adherence to the recommended rules with a sufficient category of 24 people (41.4%). Based on the research results, it is hoped that health workers will improve education related to self-care management based on self-integration and self-regulation in hypertensive patients.
