Abstract
Dental and oral health problems are caused by poorly maintained oral hygiene as one of the causes of dental disease and tooth supporting tissue. The formation of tartar occurs when food debris is allowed to mix with saliva which causes inflammation of the gums and supporting tissue so that it becomes rocking. The purpose of this study is to describe the knowledge of pregnant women about tartar in Karangasem Regency in 2021. This type of research is descriptive which aims to describe the knowledge of pregnant women about tartar in Karangasem Regency with the number of respondents 48 people. The results of the study obtained knowledge with good categories 10 people (20.80%), sufficient categories 13 people (27.10%), and less categories 25 people (52.10%). Based on the results of this study which was conducted on 48 pregnant women, it can be concluded that the percentage of pregnant women knowledge about tartar was 25 people with a poor category, namely 52.10%. The average knowledge of pregnant women about tartar was 58.99 with sufficient category. The percentage of the level of knowledge of pregnant women about tartar based on the education level was mostly secondary education (SMA), namely 9 people with a low category, the frequency was 21 with a percentage of 43.75%.
