Abstract
The behavior to keep dental and oral cleanliness is influencing by knowledge about brushing teeth method. The school age is a susceptible group in oral and dental disease, like dental caries and periodontal disease. The aim of this research is to know the description of knowledge about dental and oral cleanliness, so the brushing teeth behavior of the students in level 3th and 4th SDN 4 Padangkerta in 2019. This is descriptive study and the design of this research is survey, the data collected with questionnaire to 51 students in level 3th and 4th SDN 4 Padangkerta.The result of this research shows majority of respondents have the knowledge about dental and oral cleanliness in less criteria, that are 41 peoples (80.4%), and average of knowledge is 39,2 (less criteria). Majority of respondents have brushing teeth behavior in need guidance, that are 44 peoples (86,3%). The average of behavior is 36,1 (need guidance criteria).The conclusion of this research is, the students in level 3th and 4th SDN 4 Padangkerta have the knowledge about oral and dental cleanliness in less criteria, and the brushing teeth behavior is in need guidance criteria. Based on the result of the research it is recommended to increase the elucidation about dental and oral health to the elementary school.
