Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF TOTAL CHOLESTEROL LEVELS IN NON-MEDICAL EMPLOYEES AT WANGAYA GENERAL HOSPITAL ABSTRACT Background: Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) is a health problem that dominates the main cause of death in the world. Non-communicable diseases can be caused by several factors such as physical activity, age, gender, and genetic. Example for genetic is hypercholesterolemia. Cholesterol levels can be affected by daily physical activity, the less physical activity, the higher the cholesterol level in the blood. Non-medical employees are employees who do not have direct contact with patients such as administration, security, and cleaning services. Physical activity carried out by administrative employees is less than cleaning services, so it has the potential to have higher cholesterol levels. Purpose: To describe the total cholesterol levels in non-medical employees of Wangaya Hospital. Methods: This study used a descriptive research type, a random sampling technique using a sample of 39 samples and using the POCT method. Results: The study results showed that normal total cholesterol levels were 15 respondents (38.5%), upper were 19 respondents (48,7%) and high were 5 respondents (12.8%). Based on the characteristics most commonly found in female gender, age 51-55 years, and less physical activity. Conclusion: The description of total cholesterol levels in non-medical employees of Wangaya Hospital mostly has total cholesterol levels in the upper to high category. Keyword: Total Cholesterol Levels, Non-Medical Employees of Wangaya Hospital, POCT GAMBARAN KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL PADA PEGAWAI NON-MEDIS RSUD WANGAYA ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Penyakit Tidak Menular (PTM) merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan yang mendominasi penyebab kematian utama di dunia. Penyakit tidak menular bisa disebabkan karena beberapa faktor, seperti aktivitas fisik, usia, jenis kelamin, genetik. Contoh dari faktor keturunan yaitu hiperkolesterolemia. Kadar kolesterol dapat dipengaruhi dari aktivitas fisik yang dilakukan sehari-hari, semakin sedikit melakukan aktivitas fisik, semakin tinggi kadar kolesterol dalam darah. Pegawai non-medis yaitu pegawai yang tidak berhubungan langsung dengan pasien seperti administrasi, satpam, dan cleaning service. Aktivitas fisik yang dilakukan oleh pegawai administrasi lebih ringan daripada cleaning service sehingga berpotensi memiliki kadar kolesterol lebih tinggi. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar kolesterol total pada pegawai non-medis RSUD Wangaya. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif, teknik pengambilan sampel random sampling dengan menggunakan sampel sebanyak 39 sampel dan menggunakan metode POCT. Hasil: Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan kadar kolesterol normal sebanyak 15 responden (38,5%), ambang batas atas sebanyak 19 responden (48,7%), dan tinggi sebanyak 5 responden (12,8%). Berdasarkan karakteristik paling banyak ditemukan pada jenis kelamin perempuan, usia 51-55 tahun, dan aktivitas fisik ringan. Simpulan: Gambaran kadar kolesterol total pada pegawai non-medis RSUD Wangaya sebagian besar memiliki kadar kolesterol total kategori ambang batas atas hingga tinggi.
