Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF TOTAL CHOLESTEROL LEVELS IN HYPERTENSION PATIENTS AT PUSKESMAS I PEKUTATAN, JEMBRANA DISTRICT YEAR 2023 ABSTRACT Hypertension is very closely related to the amount of LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein), HDL (High Density Lipoprotein), and triglycerides in the body or usually referred to as total cholesterol. Cholesterol is closely related to hypertension because high LDL levels can build up and form plaque on the walls of blood vessels. This study aims to describe the total cholesterol level in hypertensive patients at Puskesmas I Pekutatan, Jembrana Regency in 2023. This study used a quantitative method, an observational design and a descriptive study type. The research was conducted from March to April 2023 with a sample of 34 people. The results showed that most of the 34 respondents were aged 61-75 years and based on gender, 21 (61.8%) were more dominant by gender. Stage II hypertension patients experienced high total cholesterol levels in 20 (58.8%) respondents. Most of the respondents experienced high total cholesterol levels at the age of 61-75 years as many as 21 (61.7%) and women experienced more high total cholesterol levels with a total of 17 (50.0%). Researchers hope that patients who experience high cholesterol levels with hypertension are expected to maintain their diet, exercise regularly, and avoid foods that contain saturated fat. Keywords: Hypertension, Total Cholesterol, Healthy Lifestyles GAMBARAN KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL PADA PASIEN HIPERTENSI DI PUSKESMAS I PEKUTATAN KABUPATEN JEMBRANA TAHUN 2023 ABSTRAK Hipertensi sangat erat hubungannya dengan jumlah LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein), HDL (High Density Lipoprotein), dan trigliserida dalam tubuh atau biasanya disebut sebagai kolesterol total. Kolesterol erat hubungannya dengan hipertensi karena kadar LDL yang tinggi dapat tertimbung dan membentuk plak pada dinding pembuluh darah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar kolesterol total pada pasien hipertensi di Puskesmas I Pekutatan Kabupaten Jembrana tahun 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif, desain observasional dan jenis penelitian studi deskriptif. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan Maret sampai April 2023 dengan sampel 34 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari 34 responden sebagian besar berumur 61-75 tahun dan berdasarkan jenis kelamin lebih dominan perempuan sebanyak 21 (61,8%). Pasien hipertensi stadium II mengalami kadar kolesterol total tinggi sebanyak 20 (58,8%) responden. Sebagian besar responden mengalami kadar kolesterol total tinggi pada umur 61-75 tahun sebanyak 21 (61,7%) dan perempuan lebih banyak mengalami kadar kolesterol total tinggi dengan jumlah 17 (50,0%). Peneliti berharap, pasien yang mengalami kadar kolesterol tinggi dengan penyakit hipertensi diharapkan untuk menjaga pola makan, rutin berolahraga, dan menghindari makanan yang mengandung lemak jenuh.
