Abstract

SELF-CARE MANAGEMENT IN PATIENTS WITH TYPE II DIABETES MELLITUS AT HEALTH CENTER AREA IV, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, DENPASAR SELATAN DISTRICT, 2023 ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus type II is a metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia caused by abnormal insulin secretion and insulin work. According to data from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia in 2020, the incidence of diabetes across Indonesia is in seventh place in the world, with 10.7 million diabetics and 1.5 million people dying from diabetes mellitus. The objective of the study is to identify dietary alertness, identify physical activity, identify blood glucose monitoring, identify foot care, and identify the compliance of taking diabetes medication in patients with type II diabetes mellitus. This type of research is called quantitative descriptive research. In this research, the purposeful sampling technique is used, and the data collection instrument used is a questionnaire. The results of the study conducted in patients with type II diabetes showed caution in the diet with a sufficient category of 49 people (59,0%), physical activity with a category of less than 40 people (48,2%), blood glucose monitoring with an adequate category of 51 people (61,4%), foot care with a sufficient category of 48 people (57,8%), compliance with the consumption of diabetes medication with a good category of 60 people (72,3%), and self-care management with a sufficiency category of 57 people (68,7%). The researchers hope this research can serve as a basis for further research with different methods and a wider scope. Keywords : Diabetes mellitus, self-care management GAMBARAN SELF CARE MANAGEMENT PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE II DI UPTD PUSKESMAS IV DINAS KESEHATAN KECAMATAN DENPASAR SELATAN TAHUN 2023 ABSTRAK Diabetes melitus tipe II ialah penyakit metabolik dengan karakteristik hiperglikemia, disebabkan kelainan sekresi insulin dan kerja insulin. Berdasarkan data Kementrian Kesehatan RI tahun 2020, kejadian diabetes melitus Indonesia berada di posisi ke-7 di Dunia yaitu sebanyak 10,7 juta penderita diabetes melitus dan 1,5 juta orang meninggal akibat diabetes mellitus. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengidentifikasi kewaspadaan diet, mengidentifikasi aktivitas fisik, mengidentifikasi pemantauan glukosa darah, mengidentifikasi perawatan kaki, dan mengidentifikasi kepatuhan minum obat diabetes pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe II. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitaf. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik Purposive sampling dan instrument pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kuesioner. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe II menunjukkan kewaspadaan diet dengan kategori cukup sebanyak 49 orang (59,0%), aktivitas fisik dengan kategori kurang sebanyak 40 orang (48,2%), pemantauan glukosa darah dengan kategori cukup sebanyak 51 orang (61,4%), perawatan kaki dalam kategori cukup sebanyak 48 orang (57,8%), kepatuhan minum obat diabetes dengan kategori baik sebanyak 60 orang (72,3%), self care management dengan kategori cukup sebanyak 57 orang (68,7%). Peneliti berharap penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai dasar untuk penelitian selanjutnya dengan metode yang berbeda dan jangkauan penelitian yang lebih luas.
