Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HUSBAND’S SUPPORT AND SELF-EFFICACY EXCLUSIVE BREAST MILK FEEDING (The study was conducted at the Regional Technical Implementation Unit Puskesmas III Public Health Office North Denpasar Subdistrict) ABSTRACT The low of exclusive breast milk feeding in Indonesia is influenced by various factors. Factors that influenced mothers’ decisions to give exclusive breast milk feeding, namely the factor of self-confidence (self-efficacy) in breastfeeding. The cause of low self-efficacy is husband's support. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the husband’s support and self-efficacy exclusive breast milk feeding. This study was a correlational analytic study with a cross-sectional approach and a sample of 39 couples. The data analysis used univariate in the form of frequency distribution and bivariate using the Chi Square test with a significance level of p <0,05. The results of this study showed that the most husbands supported exclusive breast milk feeding, the most mothers had high exclusive breast milk feeding self-efficacy, and there was a relationship between husband support and exclusive breastfeeding self-efficacy. The conclusion of the study was that if the husband supports breast milk feeding, the self-efficacy of exclusive breast milk feeding for mothers will be higher. The researcher suggest that mother and husband are expected to be more proactive in seeking information to increase self-efficacy in exclusive breast milk feeding. Keywords: Husband’s Support, Self-Efficacy, Exclusive Breast Milk HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN SUAMI DENGAN EFIKASI DIRI PEMBERIAN AIR SUSU IBU EKSKLUSIF (Penelitian dilakukan di Unit Pelaksana Teknis Daerah Puskesmas III Dinas Kesehatan Kecamatan Denpasar Utara) ABSTRAK Rendahnya ASI eksklusif di Indonesia dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor. Faktor yang mempengaruhi ibu dalam memberikan ASI eksklusif adalah faktor keyakinan diri (efikasi diri) dalam menyusui. Penyebab rendahnya efikasi diri adalah dukungan suami. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan dukungan suami dengan efikasi diri pemberian ASI eksklusif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik korelasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional, besar sampel sebanyak 39 pasangan. Analisis data menggunakan univariat dalam bentuk distribusi frekuensi dan bivariat menggunakan uji Chi Square dengan tingkat kemaknaan p<0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagian besar suami mendukung dalam pemberian ASI eksklusif, sebagian besar ibu memiliki efikasi diri pemberian ASI eksklusif yang tinggi, dan ada hubungan antara dukungan suami dengan efikasi diri pemberian ASI eksklusif. Kesimpulan penelitian didapat semakin suami mendukung maka efikasi diri pemberian ASI eksklusif ibu semakin tinggi. Peneliti menyarankan pada ibu dan suami diharapkan untuk lebih proaktif mencari informasi guna meningkatkan efikasi diri pemberian ASI eksklusif.
