Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic disorders characterized by increased blood glucose levels (hyperglycemia) due to damage to insulin secretion, insulin action or both. Diabetes mellitus is a disease with serious impacts, one of which is the disturbance of skin integrity. Management for healing impaired skin integrity in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients is debridement and wound care. Honey is a non-pharmacological therapy that is usually given in the treatment of diabetes mellitus wounds. The antibacterial properties of honey help fight infection in wounds and its anti-inflammatory action can reduce pain and increase circulation which contributes to the healing process. This scientific work was conducted to determine the description of nursing care for skin integrity disorders in patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus. Method with the application of care for three days. Implementation given to patients in accordance with the interventions that have been prepared, the implementation of wound care using honey for 3 days. The results of the evaluation showed that the patient said the wound was not too sore and had improved. It is advisable for nurses to intervene in wound care using honey in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with skin integrity problems. Keywords: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Impaired skin integrity
