Abstract

THE RELATION OF ANTENATAL CARE (ANC) SERVICE QUALITY WITH THE PREPARATION OF PREGNANT WOMEN ON THEIR THIRD TRIMESTER IN ENCOUNTERING CHILDBIRTH OF THE NEW ADAPTATION ERA ABSTRACT ANC service quality is a complete examination given during pregnancy which fulfills 10 T standard. ANC service quality is expected to prepare pregnant women for safe and clean delivery and to prevent complications and anticipate actions required in an emergency. This study aimed to determine the relation of ANC service quality with the preparation of pregnant women on their third trimester in encountering childbirth of the new adaptation era at Buleleng I Public Health Centre. The research method was quantitative, using correlation analytic design with cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were 44 pregnant women with purposive sampling technique. Data collection was done using primary data with a questionnaire sheet. The results showed that pregnant women who rated the quality of ANC services as satisfactory as many 32 women (72.7%) and the preparation in encountering childbirth in a good category as many as 27 women (61.4%). The results of the Chi-Square test obtained a p value of 0.002 (α = 0.05), it can be concluded that there is a significant relation between the ANC service quality and the preparation of pregnant women on their third trimester in encountering childbirth of the new adaptation era at Buleleng I Public Health Center. Based on the results of the study, it is expected that health workers can improve health promotion to pregnant women and give correct information about pregnancy and delivery at the time of ANC services.
