Abstract
DIFFERENCES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF INFANTS AGED 6-12 MONTHS THAT GIVEN WITH THOSE WHO ARE NOT GIVEN EXCLUSIVE BREASFEEDING ABSTRACT The growth and development of babies is influenced by external and internal factors. External factors have a big influence, namely nutrition. Nutrition can be obtained from breast milk are needed in the development process in babies. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the development of infants aged 6-12 months who were given and not given exclusive breastfeeding at the UPTD Puskesmas Sukawati II. This study is a comparative analytic experiment uses cross-sectional approach. The sample total was 48 babies aged 6-12 months who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria by using purposive sampling technique. The type of data used is primary data obtained through observation using the KPSP questionnaire. The data obtained then analyzed. Univariate analysis results showed that the majority of sample were babies aged nine months and female. Bivariate analysis result using Mann Withney U test showed p = 0.039, means there is a significant difference in the development of infants aged 6-12 months who are given and not given exclusive breastfeeding at the UPTD Puskesmas Sukawati II. Therefore, it is necessary to give information to mothers about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding during the childs growth and development process.
