Abstract

Description Of Self Care Management In Diabetes Melitus Patients In Public Health Center II Denpasar Barat In 2021 By : Kadek Widi Pratiwi ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a disease characterized by increased levels of glucose in the blood and diseases that cannot be cured thus require a self-care. Self-care management DM is a program that must run throughout the life of patients. Self-care management DM aims to optimize the metabolic control, optimize the quality of life, and prevent acute and chronic complications. The purpose of this research was describe the self-care management of diabetes mellitus (DM) in Public Health Center II Denpasar Barat In 2021. This research was quantitative descriptive. Data were collected using a Diabetes Self-Management Questionnaire (DSMQ) questionnaire. Samples were taken by using total sampling. Total sample were 36 respondents. The results of study indicate that the level of self care management is good, self care management is sufficient, and self care management is less, has a frequency distribution which indicates that more respondents have sufficient level of self care management as much 83,3 %, who have good self care as much as 16.7%. Based on the characteristics of DM patients who have sufficient self care at the age> 40 years as many as 80.6%, based on gender who have sufficient self care, namely women as much as 66.7%, based on education who have sufficient self care at the primary school as many as 55 , 6% and based on the work of entrepreneurs / traders have sufficient self care as much as 41.7%.
