Abstract

THE EFFECT OF POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS WITH LEAFLET MEDIA ON NAUSEA IN POST CHEMOTHERAPY CANCER PATIENT AT MANGUSADA HOSPITAL IN 2026 ABSTRACT The emetogenic potential of chemotherapy drugs causes side effects of nausea and vomiting in cancer patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of positive affirmation using leaflet media on nausea in post-chemotherapy cancer patients at Mangusada Hospital in 2026. The type of research is a pre-experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with consecutive sampling. The total sample in this study was 33 respondents, with sample size calculation using the G-Power. The average nausea score before the intervention was 18.73, while the average after the intervention was 11.70. the results of the Paired Samples T-Test showed that the average nausea score before and after the intervention was 7.03 (SD = 1.630), equivalent to a clinical reduction of 37.5%. The significance value of nausea scores before and after the intervention was a p value < 0.001 (α = ≤ 0,01), which means that there is an effect of providing positive affirmations using leaflet on reducing nausea in post-chemotherapy cancer patients at Mangusada Hospital in 2026. Based on the results of this study, positive affirmations with leaflet can be used as a cognitive psychological-based non-pharmacological therapy to reduce post-chemotherapy nausea intensity. PENGARUH AFIRMASI POSITIF DENGAN MEDIA LEAFLET TERHADAP NAUSEA PADA PASIEN KANKER PASCA KEMOTERAPI DI RUMAH SAKIT DAERAH MANGUSADA TAHUN 2026 ABSTRAK Potensi emetogenik obat kemoterapi mengakibatkan efek samping mual dan muntah pada pasien kanker. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh afirmasi positif dengan media leaflet terhadap nausea pada pasien kanker pasca kemoterapi di Rumah Sakit Daerah Mangusada Tahun 2026. Jenis penelitian yaitu pre-experimental design dengan rancangan one group pre-test and post-test. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah non-probability sampling dengan jenis consecutive sampling. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 33 responden dengan perhitungan sampel menggunakan aplikasi G-Power. Nilai rata-rata skor nausea sebelum intervensi adalah 18,73, sedangkan rata-rata setelah intervensi yaitu 11,70. Hasil uji Paired Samples T-Test diperoleh rata-rata skor nausea sebelum dan setelah diberikan intervensi yaitu 7,03 (SD = 1,630) atau setara dengan penurunan klinis sebesar 37,5%. Nilai signifikansi skor nausea sebelum dan setelah intervensi yaitu nilai p value < 0,001 (α = ≤ 0,01) yang artinya terdapat pengaruh pemberian afirmasi positif dengan media leaflet terhadap penurunan nausea pada pasien kanker pasca kemoterapi di RSD Mangusada Tahun 2026. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, maka afirmasi positif dengan media leaflet dapat dijadikan sebagai terapi non farmakologis berbasis psikologis kognitif dalam menurunkan intensitas mual pasca kemoterapi.
