Abstract
DIFFERENCES IN CADRES’ BEHAVIOR BEFORE AND AFTER RECEIVING EDUCATION ON CHILD ANTHROPOMETRIC MEASUREMENT Study Conducted at Posyandu in Belega Village, Working Area of Blahbatuh I Public Health Center, Gianyar Regency Stunting remains a significant nutritional problem in Indonesia and requires optimal prevention and early detection efforts. One of the main strategies is monitoring child growth at integrated health service posts (posyandu) through anthropometric measurements. The success of this activity is highly influenced by the behavior of health cadres, which includes knowledge, attitudes, and skills. This study aimed to determine the differences in cadres’ behavior before and after being given education regarding child anthropometric measurements. This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The research was conducted at Posyandu in Belega Village, within the working area of Puskesmas Blahbatuh I, Gianyar Regency, using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using knowledge questionnaires, attitude questionnaires, and skill observation sheets, then analyzed using the Paired Sample t-test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed that the mean knowledge score increased from 57.81 to 82.64, attitude from 29.58 to 35.76, and skills from 11.21 to 15.40. Statistical analysis showed a p-value = 0.000 (p < 0.05) for all variables, indicating significant differences before and after the intervention. In conclusion, education regarding child anthropometric measurements had a significant effect on improving cadres’ behavior, including knowledge, attitudes, and skills. Therefore, regular training and guidance for posyandu cadres are recommended to maintain and improve their ability in conducting child anthropometric measurements. Salah satu strategi utama adalah pemantauan pertumbuhan anak di posyandu melalui pengukuran antropometri. Keberhasilan kegiatan ini sangat dipengaruhi oleh perilaku kader, yang mencakup pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan perilaku kader sebelum dan sesudah diberikan edukasi tentang pengukuran antropometri anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pre-eksperimen dengan rancangan one-group pretest-posttest. Lokasi penelitian adalah Posyandu di Desa Belega, wilayah kerja Puskesmas Blahbatuh I, Kabupaten Gianyar, dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner pengetahuan, kuesioner sikap, dan lembar observasi keterampilan, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji Paired Sample t-test dengan tingkat signifikansi α = 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan skor rata-rata pengetahuan meningkat dari 57,81 menjadi 82,64, sikap dari 29,58 menjadi 35,76, dan keterampilan dari 11,21 menjadi 15,40. Analisis statistik menunjukkan nilai p = 0,000 (p < 0,05) untuk semua variabel, yang menandakan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Kesimpulannya, edukasi mengenai pengukuran antropometri anak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan perilaku kader, meliputi pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan, sehingga disarankan agar pelatihan dan pembinaan kader posyandu dilakukan secara berkala untuk mempertahankan dan meningkatkan kemampuan kader dalam pengukuran antropometri anak.
