Abstract
ABSTRACT Community Nursing Care for the School Disaster Resilience Group through the Implementation of START (Simple Triage and Rapid Treatment) Education Study Conducted at Husnul Khotimah Islamic Boarding School, Kuningan, West Java, 2025 Natural and non-natural disasters can occur at any time and pose serious threats to the safety of communities, including school environments. Efforts to strengthen disaster resilience in schools require the active involvement of all school members through appropriate education. The START (Simple Triage and Rapid Treatment) method is a simple and rapid triage technique that assists in determining the priority of victim management during emergencies. This activity aimed to provide community nursing care through START triage education to the school disaster resilience group, in order to improve knowledge and skills in the initial management of disaster victims. The implementation methods included counseling, simulation, and pre–post tests for participants. The results showed a significant increase in the average knowledge score from 30% to 87.3% after the education and simulation. Participants were able to accurately classify victims according to triage categories (red, yellow, green, and black) during simulations. START method education proved effective in enhancing school community preparedness and rapid response in emergency situations. It is recommended that such training be conducted regularly and integrated into the school’s disaster resilience program.
