Abstract
MIDWIFERY CARE OF MRS. “EP” 28 YEARS OLD MULTIGRAVIDAS IN 15 WEEKS OF PREGNANCY UNTIL 42 DAYS POSTPARTUM AT UPTD PUSKESMAS DAWAN II ABSTRACT Continuity of care (CoC) in midwifery is provided as a means of improving the quality of care for both mothers and infants, aiming to prevent obstetric and neonatal complications. Continuity of care was combined with complementary care for Mrs. “FY” starting from 15 weeks of gestation until 42 days postpartum, including neonatal care. Data were collected through interviews, physical examinations, observations, and documentation. During the initial assessment, a key issue identified was the patient’s limited knowledge regarding second-trimester pregnancy danger signs. Based on this finding, the researcher initiated the provision of midwifery care from August 2024 to February 2025 at UPTD Puskesmas Dawan II. Labor progressed as follows: the active phase of the first stage lasted 3 hours and 35 minutes, the second stage lasted 25 minutes, the third stage lasted 10 minutes, and the fourth stage was monitored within normal limits. The newborn cried immediately after birth, had active muscle tone, reddish skin, and a birth weight of 3555 grams. Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (EIBF) was successfully performed at the 30th minute. The processes of uterine involution, lochia discharge, and lactation during the postpartum period proceeded normally without complications. The entire course of pregnancy through the postpartum period for Mrs “FY” progressed physiologically, and the midwifery care provided including complementary care, was in accordance with established standards. Midwifery care must be delivered in compliance with these standards as a measure to monitor and detect any complications or difficulties during pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, and neonatal care.
