Abstract

NURSING CARE FOR INEFECTIVE AIRWAYS CLEARANCE IN PATIENTS COPD WITH EUCALYPTUS OIL INHALATION THERAPY IN THE JEPUN ROOM OF BALI MANDARA HOSPITAL IN 2025 ABSTRACT COPD is a chronic and irreversible obstructive respiratory disease characterized by reduced lung elasticity, which causes bronchospasm, making it difficult for patients to breathe. The purpose of this study was to describe ineffective airway clearance nursing care in patients with COPD with eucalyptus oil inhalation intervention in the Jepun Room of Bali Mandara Hospital. The results of the study found that the patient's nursing assessment data showed dyspnea and orthopnea, ineffective cough or inability to cough, excessive sputum, wheezing and dry rhonchi, altered breathing patterns (rapid and shallow breathing), and altered breathing frequency (28x/minute). The nursing diagnosis formulated is ineffective airway clearance related to retained secretions. The nursing plan refers to the SLKI guidelines with increased airway clearance outcomes and SIKI with the main interventions of airway management, effective coughing exercises, and respiratory monitoring, as well as eucalyptus oil inhalation innovation interventions. The implementation of nursing is carried out including; chest physiotherapy, effective coughing exercises, providing a semi-fowler position, providing warm drinks, providing a combiven nebulizer according to the doctor's collaboration. Nursing evaluation shows that after nursing actions were carried out for 3x24 hours, the goal was achieved, as evidenced by the patient saying that dyspnea had decreased and orthopnea had decreased, the patient appeared to be able to cough effectively, sputum production decreased, wheezing breath sounds decreased, breathing patterns improved, breathing frequency improved to 22x/minute. Eucalyptus oil inhalation intervention can be an intervention used to treat the problem of ineffective airway clearance in COPD patients. Keywords: COPD, Ineffective airway clearance, Inhalation of Eucalyptus Oil ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN BERSIHAN JALAN NAPAS TIDAK EFEKTIF PADA PASIEN PPOK DENGAN INTERVENSI TERAPI INHALASI MINYAK KAYU PUTIH DI RUANG JEPUN RSUD BALI MANDARA TAHUN 2025 ABSTRAK PPOK adalah penyakit pernapasan obstruktif kronis dan ireversibel yang ditandai dengan berkurangnya elastisitas paru-paru, yang menyebabkan bronkospasme sehingga pasien kesulitan bernapas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan asuhan keperawatan bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif pada pasien dengan PPOK dengan intervensi inhalasi minyak kayu putih di Ruang Jepun RSUD Bali Mandara. Hasil penelitian menemukan data pengkajian keperawatan pasien mengatakan dispnea dan ortopnea, batuk tidak efektif atau tidak mampu batuk, sputum berlebih, wheezing dan ronkhi kering, pola napas berubah (pernapasan cepat dan dangkal), frekuensi napas berubah (28x/menit). Diagnosis keperawatan yang dirumuskan adalah bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif berhubungan dengan sekresi yang tertahan. Rencana keperawatan mengacu pada pedoman SLKI dengan luaran bersihan jalan napas meningkat dan SIKI dengan intervensi utama manajemen jalan napas, latihan batuk efektif, dan pemantauan respirasi, serta intervensi inovasi inhalasi minyak kayu putih. Implementasi keperawatan dilakukan diantaranya; fisioterapi dada, latihan batuk efektif, memberikan posisi semifowler, memberi minum hangat, memberikan nebulizer combiven sesuai kolaborasi dokter. Evaluasi keperawatan menunjukkan setelah dilakukan tindakan keperawatan selama 3x24 jam tujuan tercapai dibuktikan dengan pasien mengatakan dispnea menurun dan ortopnea menurun, pasien tampak sudah bisa melakukan batuk efektif, produksi sputum menurun, suara napas wheezing menurun, pola napas membaik, frekuensi napas membaik 22x/menit. Intervensi inhalasi minyak kayu putih dapat menjadi intervensi yang digunakan untuk menangani masalah bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif pada pasien PPOK.
