Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF PERMANENT DENTAL CARIES AND STUDENTS' CARYOGENIC FOOD CONSUMPTION BEHAVIORS GRADE V STUDENT OF SDN 10 PEGUYANGAN NORTH DENPASAR YEAR 2025 ABSTRACT Survey results show that dental caries is the most common health problem among elementary school children. This is suspected to be related to the pattern of cariogenic food consumption, both in terms of type and manner of consumption.Excessive intake of cariogenic foods may increase the risk of dental caries in children.This study aims to describe the condition of permanent dental caries and the behavior of cariogenic food consumption among 5th grade students at SDN 10 Peguyangan, North Denpasar, in 2025. The research was conducted in April 2025 at SDN 10 Peguyangan. This is a descriptive study using a total population approach, involving all 32 fifth-grade students as respondents.Data analysis was carried out using univariate statistics to determine the frequency and percentage of the collected data. The results showed that most students had a high frequency of consuming cariogenic foods. A total of 37.5% were categorized as "rarely", 50% as "frequently", and 12.5% as "very frequently". The high rate of consumption is presumed to be influenced by the appeal of sweet tastes and a lack of knowledge about their impact on dental health.The conclusion of the study indicates that the prevalence of dental caries is lower in female students compared to male students. In addition, students categorized as "frequent" consumers of cariogenic foods showed the highest rates of dental caries. Keyword : dental caries; caryogenic food; elementary school GAMBARAN KARIES GIGI PERMANEN DAN PERILAKU MENGONSUMSI MAKANAN KARIOGENIK SISWA KELAS V SDN 10 PEGUYANGAN DENPASAR UTARA TAHUN 2025 ABSTRAK Hasil survey yang terbanyak terjadi karies pada anak-anak SD, karena pola konsumsi makanan kariogenik baik jenis, cara mengonsumsi makanan kariogenik yang berlebih diduga dapat meningkatkan resiko terjadinya karies gigi pada anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan menggambarkan kondisi karies gigi permanen dan perilaku konsumsi makanan kariogenik pada siswa kelas V SDN 10 Peguyangan, Denpasar Utara, tahun 2025. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SDN 10 Peguyangan pada bulan April Tahun 2025. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan total populasi dengan jumlah responden 32 siswa kelas V SDN 10 Peguyangan.Analisis data yang dilakukan dengan secara statistic univariat untuk mengetahui frekuensi, dan persentase terhadap seluruh data yang terkumpul. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa memiliki kebiasaan mengonsumsi makanan kariogenik dengan frekuensi tinggi: 37,5% tergolong "jarang", 50% "sering", dan 12,5% "sangat sering". Tingginya konsumsi ini diduga dipengaruhi oleh daya tarik rasa manis serta kurangnya pengetahuan mengenai dampaknya terhadap kesehatan gigi. Simpulan yang dapat diambil ialah frekuensi karies gigi lebih besar dibandingkan dengan frekuensi bebas karies. Frekuensi siswa yang memiliki perilaku konsumsi makanan kariogenik dengan kategori sering memiliki angka terserang karies gigi paling banyak. Kata kunci : karies gigi; makanan kariogenik; anak SD
