Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP OF HYPERTENSION WITH URIC ACID LEVELS IN THE ELDERLY AT UPTD PUSKESMAS 1 DENPASAR SELATAN Introduction: Hypertension can cause an increase in uric acid levels. This happens because in people with hypertension, the blood vessels leading to the kidneys can become blocked due to a buidup of uric acid crystals. As a result, kidney function is distruped and uric acid removal becomes ineffective, so that uric acid levels in the blood increase. Objective: The aims of this study was to determine the relationship between hypertension and uric acid levels in the elderly. Method: This research method is correlational with a cross sectional type of research. The population of this studi were elderly people at UPTD Puskesmas 1 Denpasar Selatan with a sample size of 44 respondents calculated using the Slovin formula. Results: The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between hypertension and uric acid levels in the elderly as shown by the significance result of P = 0,000 (p < 0,5). Conclusion: The conclusion from this study is that there is a relationship between hypertension and uric acid levels in the elderly. Keywords: Hypertension, uric acid, elderly. HUBUNGAN HIPERTENSI DENGAN KADAR ASAM URAT PADA LANSIA DI UPTD PUSKESMAS 1 DENPASAR SELATAN Latar Belakang: hipertensi dapat menyebabkan peningkatan kadar asam urat. Hal tersebut terjadi karena pada penderita hipertensi, pembuluh darah menuju ginjal bisa mengalami penyumbatan akibat penumpukan kristal asam urat. Akibatnya, fungsi ginjal terganggu dan pembuangan asam urat menjadi tidak efektif, sehingga kadar asam urat dalam darah meningkat. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan hipertensi dengan kadar asam urat pada lansia. Metode: Metode penelitian ini yaitu korelasional dengan jenis penelitian cross sectional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah lansia di UPTD Puskesmas 1 Denpasar Selatan dengan jumlah sampel 44 responden yang dihitung menggunakan rumus Slovin. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara hipertensi dengan kadar asam urat pada lansia yang ditunjukkan dari hasil signifikansi sebesar P = 0,000 (p < 0,5). Kesimpulan: Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini terdapat hubungan antara hipertensi dengan kadar asam urat pada lansia. Kata Kunci : Hipertensi, kadar asam urat, lansia.
