Abstract

OVERVIEW OF HEMOGLOBIN LEVELS IN LATE ADOLESCENT WHO CONSUMES COFFEE IN SOUTH DENPASAR DISTRICT Anemia is a public health problem that often occurs in adolescents. Adolescents are a group that is prone to anemia. This is due to the habit of consuming excessive coffee, thus disrupting the process of iron absorption into the body which results in a lack of red blood cells and a decrease in hemoglobin levels. The purpose of the study was conducted to determine hemoglobin levels in late adolescents in South Denpasar District. The type of research was conducted using descriptive research and using primary data sources and secondary data obtained through data collection using questionnaire sheets, then venous blood sampling to be analyzed by the Cyanmethemoglobin method. The results showed that 38% respondents had low hemoglobin levels and as many as 62% late adolescents with normal hemoglobin levels.
