Abstract

ACUTE PAIN NURSING CARE WITH ACUPRESSURE THERAPY FOR PATIENTS SUFFERING FROM GOUTY ARTHRITIS IN THE WORKING AREA PUSKESMAS KARANGASEM I IN 2024 ABSTRACT Gout Arthritis is inflammation of the joints caused by deposits of uric acid crystals in the joints. This disease occurs due to disorders of purine metabolism. Purines are proteins that are metabolized in the body to become uric acid. This research aims to provide nursing care for acute pain by administering acupressure therapy to patients experiencing gouty arthritis. This research was conducted on 2 patients with pain complaints each on a pain scale of 6. Based on the results of the assessment, a diagnosis was found to be related to a physiological injury agent, characterized by complaining of pain, appearing to grimace, being protective, restless, and having difficulty sleeping. The intervention provided is in the form of pain management consisting of observation, therapy, education and collaboration. Implementation is given for 3 days with a duration of 5-7 minutes with therapeutic action in the form of acupressure therapy. The results of the study showed that the pain level in both patients decreased to scale 2 after being given acupressure therapy intervention, as evidenced by the patient's decreased pain complaints. The mechanism for reducing uric acid levels and pain scale due to acupressure therapy is caused by 2 things, namely an improvement in kidney secretory function and the release of endorphin hormones which can have a relaxing effect. The conclusion obtained is that acupressure therapy is effective for treating acute pain in gouty arthritis patients. The results of this research suggest that health workers can use acupressure therapy as an alternative in providing non-pharmacological therapy to reduce the pain experienced by gout arthritis sufferers. Keywords: gout arthritis; acute pain; acupressure therapy ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN NYERI AKUT DENGAN TERAPI AKUPRESUR PADA PASIEN YANG MENGALAMI GOUT ARTHRITIS DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS KARANGASEM I TAHUN 2024 ABSTRAK Gout Arthritis adalah radang sendi yang disebabkan oleh timbunan kristal asam urat dipersendian. Purin adalah protein yang mengalami metabolisme didalam tubuh menjadi asam urat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan asuhan keperawatan nyeri akut dengan pemberian terapi akupresur pada pasien yang mengalami gout arthritis. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 2 orang pasien dengan keluhan nyeri masing-masing skala nyeri 6. Berdasarkan hasil pengkajian didapatkan diagnosa berhubungan dengan agen pencedera fisiologis ditandai dengan mengeluh nyeri, tampak meringis, bersikap protektif, gelisah, dan sulit tidur. Intervensi yang diberikan berupa manajemen nyeri yang terdiri dari observasi, terapeutik, edukasi, dan kolaborasi. Implementasi diberikan selama 3 hari dengan durasi 5-7 menit dengan tindakan terapeutik berupa terapi akupresur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat nyeri pada kedua pasien menurun menjadi skala 2 setelah diberikan intervensi terapi akupresur, dibuktikan dengan keluhan nyeri pasien menurun. Mekanisme penurunan kadar asam urat dan skala nyeri akibat terapi akupresure disebabkan oleh 2 hal yakni adanya perbaikan fungsi sekresi ginjal dan pengeluaran hormone endorfin yang dapat menimbulkan efek relaksasi. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh, yaitu terapi akupresur efektif untuk mengatasi nyeri akut pada pasien gout arthritis. Hasil penelitian ini disarankan bagi petugas kesehatan agar terapi akupresur dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif dalam memberikan terapi nonfarmakologi untuk mengurangi nyeri yang dialami penderita gout arthritis.
