Abstract

ACUTE PAIN TREATMENT WITH CINNAMON POWDER COMPRESS THERAPY ON GOUT PATIENTS AT BANJAR KWANJI DALUNG VILLAGE Ida Ayu Kadek Santhi Dewi Program Studi Profesi Ners Poltekkes Kemenkes Denpasar Email: santhiidaayu05@gmail.com ABSTRACT Gout is known as gout (Gouty Arthritis) which is a disease of the joints due to high levels of uric acid in the body. One non-pharmacological therapy that can be given to treat gout pain is a cinnamon powder compress. The aim of the research is to determine nursing care for acute pain using cinnamon powder compress therapy for gout sufferers in Banjar Kwanji, Dalung Village. The preparation method uses a case study design. The research was conducted on 2 patients with complaints of pain, each on a pain scale of 6 (patient 1) and scale 5 (patient 2). The nursing diagnosis is acute pain related to a physiological injury agent characterized by complaining of pain, appearing to grimace, being protective, restless, and having difficulty sleeping. The intervention provided is in the form of pain management consisting of observation, therapy, education and collaboration. Implementation was given for 4 days with a duration of 15 minutes carried out in the morning with therapeutic action in the form of cinnamon powder compress therapy. The evaluation results showed that the pain level in both patients decreased to scale 2 (patient 1) and scale 1 (patient 2) after being given the cinnamon powder compress intervention due to reduced stimulation of cytokines as mediators and regulators of inflammation resulting in changes in pain, as evidenced by complaints of pain. patient decline. The conclusion obtained is that cinnamon powder compresses are effective for treating acute pain in gout patients. The results of this research suggest to health workers that cinnamon powder compresses can be used as an alternative in providing non-pharmacological therapy to reduce the pain experienced by gout patients. Keywords: Gout Arthritis, Acute Pain, Cinnamon Powder ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN NYERI AKUT DENGAN TERAPI KOMPRES BUBUK KAYU MANIS PADA PENDERITA ASAM URAT DI BANJAR KWANJI DESA DALUNG Ida Ayu Kadek Santhi Dewi Program Studi Profesi Ners Poltekkes Kemenkes Denpasar Email: santhiidaayu05@gmail.com ABSTRAK Penyakit asam urat disebut sebagai penyakit gout (Arthritis Gout) yang merupakan penyakit pada sendi karena tingginya kadar asam urat dalam tubuh. Salah satu terapi nonfarmakologi yang dapat diberikan untuk mengatasi nyeri asam urat adalah kompres bubuk kayu manis. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui asuhan keperawatan nyeri akut dengan terapi kompres bubuk kayu manis pada penderita asam urat di Banjar Kwanji Desa Dalung. Metode penyusunan menggunakan rancangan studi kasus. Penelitian dilakukan pada 2 pasien dengan keluhan nyeri masing-masing skala nyeri 6 (pasien 1) dan skala 5 (pasien 2). Diagnosis keperawatan yaitu nyeri akut berhubungan dengan agen pencedera fisiologis ditandai dengan mengeluh nyeri, tampak meringis, bersikap protektif, gelisah, dan sulit tidur. Intervensi yang diberikan berupa manajemen nyeri yang terdiri dari observasi, terapeutik, edukasi, dan kolaborasi. Implementasi diberikan selama 4 hari dengan durasi waktu 15 menit dilakukan pada pagi hari dengan tindakan terapeutik berupa terapi kompres bubuk kayu manis sebanyak 20 gram. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa tingkat nyeri pada kedua pasien menurun menjadi skala 2 (pasien 1) dan skala 1 (pasien 2) setelah diberikan intervensi kompres bubuk kayu manis akibat berkurangnya rangsangan sitokin sebagai mediator dan pengatur inflamasi sehingga terjadi perubahan rasa nyeri, dibuktikan dengan keluhan nyeri pasien menurun. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh yaitu kompres bubuk kayu manis efektif untuk mengatasi nyeri akut pada pasien asam urat. Hasil penelitian ini disarankan bagi petugas kesehatan agar kompres bubuk kayu manis dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif dalam memberikan terapi nonfarmakologi untuk mengurangi nyeri yang dialami penderita asam urat.
