Abstract
THE DESCRIPTION OF TOTAL CHOLESTEROL LEVELS IN THE ELDERLY AT BANJAR TENGAH SEMPIDI TRADITIONAL VILLAGE BADUNG REGENCY BALI PROVINCE ABSTRACT Background: High blood cholesterol levels are a risk factor for heart disease. The elderly will experience the aging process and changes in physiological functions that result in a decrease in the work function of the receptor activity controlling the amount of cholesterol in the body. Purpose: this study was to determine the description of total cholesterol levels in the elderly at Banjar Tengah, Sempidi Traditional Village, Badung Regency, Bali Province. Method: This research is a descriptive study conducted in February – April 2022 with a total of 60 respondents obtained by simple random sampling technique. Total cholesterol levels were measured by the Point Of Care Testing (POCT) method. Results: From the results of research on 60 samples showed that as many as 33 people (55%) had normal total cholesterol levels, threshold of 22 people (36.7%, and high total cholesterol levels as many as 5 people (8.3%), High total cholesterol levels were more common in the age range of 60-69 years as many as 3 people (5%)and found more by female elderly as many as 4 people (6.7%). Conclusion: From the results of the study it can be concluded that most of the elderly have normal total cholesterol levels. High total cholesterol levels are more common in the age range 60-69 years and more experienced by elderly women. Keywords : Elderly, Total Cholesterol GAMBARAN KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL PADA LANSIA DI BANJAR TENGAH DESA ADAT SEMPIDI KABUPATEN BADUNG PROVINSI BALI ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Kadar kolesterol dalam darah yang tinggi merupakan salah satu faktor risiko penyakit jantung. Lansia akan mengalami proses penuaan dan perubahan fungsi fisiologis yang mengakibatkan terjadinya penurunan fungsi kerja aktivitas reseptor pengontrol jumlah kolesterol dalam tubuh. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar kolesterol total pada lansia di Banjar Tengah Desa Adat Sempidi Kabupaten Badung Provinsi Bali. Metode: Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif yang dilakukan pada bulan Februari - April 2022 dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 60 orang yang diperoleh dengan teknik simple random sampling. Kadar kolesterol total diukur dengan metode Point Of Care Testing (POCT). Hasil: Dari hasil penelitian terhadap 60 sampel menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 33 orang (55%) memiliki kadar kolesterol total normal, ambang batas sebanyak 22 orang (36,7%), dan kadar kolesterol total tinggi sebanyak 5 orang (8,3%). Kadar kolesterol total tinggi lebih banyak terdapat pada rentang usia 60-69 tahun sebanyak 3 orang (5%) dan lebih banyak ditemukan oleh lansia perempuan sebanyak 4 orang (6,7%). Simpulan: Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebagian besar lansia memiliki kadar kolesterol total normal. Kadar kolesterol total tinggi lebih banyak diderita pada rentang usia 60 - 69 tahun dan lebih banyak dialami oleh lansia perempuan. Kata kunci: Lanjut Usia, Kolesterol Total
