Abstract
IDENTIFICATION OF Candida albicans URINE OF ELDERLY IN WONGAYA GEDE VILLAGE PENEBEL TABANAN IN 2022 ABSTRACT Background : Fungal infection is a problem that continues to increase in the elderly population, including opportunistic fungal infections with immunocompromised conditions so that they are susceptible to infection from fungi, especially Candida albicans. The purpose : This study aimed to obtain isolates of Candida albicans from urine samples of the elderly in Wongaya Gede Village, Penebel, Tabanan. Method : This research was conducted descriptively, the sampling technique was using non probability sampling by method purpusive sampling. The sample in this study was urine samples from the elderly as many as 30 respondents. Urine samples were identified by culture examination on Saboraoud Dextrose Agar (SDA) media and followed by microscopic examination of the growing fungal colonies with LPCB (Lactophenol Cotton Blue) staining and germ tube testing by incubating with human serum at 37°C for 2.5 hours. . Result : The identification results showed that from 30 urine samples, the results were positive for Candida albicans as many as 2 samples (6.7%), Candida non-albicans as many as 3 samples (10.0%) and negative as many as 25 samples (87.5%) with colonies which grows on SDA media is yellowish white, round in shape, smooth, smooth and smells of yeast. Conclution : This percentage value indicates the occurrence of Candida albicans fungus in the urine of the elderly in Wongaya Gede Village, Penebel, Tabanan so it is expected that the elderly always maintain personal hygiene and routinely carry out routine checks as a preventive measure before chronic and systemic infections occur. Keywords : Urine, Candida albicans IDENTIFIKASI JAMUR Candida albicans URINE LANSIA DI DESA WONGAYA GEDE PENEBEL TABANAN TAHUN 2022 ABSTRAK Latar belakang : Infeksi jamur merupakan masalah yang terus meningkat pada populasi lansia, diantaranya infeksi jamur oportunistik dengan keadaan immunocompromised sehingga rentan mengalami infeksi dari jamur, terutama Candida albicans. Tujuan : Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkan isolat jamur Candida albicans dari sampel urine lansia di Desa Wongaya Gede, Penebel, Tabanan. Metode : Penelitian ini dilakukan secara deskriptif, teknik pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan non probability sampling dengan metode purposive sampling. Sampel pada peneltian ini adalah sampel urine lansia sebanyak 30 responden. Sampel urine di identifikasi dengan pemeriksaan kultur pada media Saboraoud Dextrosa Agar (SDA) dan dilanjutkan dengan pemeriksaan mikroskopis koloni jamur yang tumbuh dengan pewarnaan LPCB (Lactophenol Cotton Blue) dan di uji germ tube dengan menginkubasi dengan serum manusia pada suhu 370C selama 2,5 jam. Hasil : Berdasarkan hasil identifikasi menunjukkan dari 30 sampel urine didapatkan hasil yaitu positif jamur Candida albicans sebanyak 2 sampel (6,7%), Candida non-albicans sebanyak 3 sampel (10,0%) dan negatif sebanyak 25 sampel (87,5%) dengan koloni yang tumbuh pada media SDA berwarna putih kekuningnan, berbentuk bulat, licin, halus dan berbau ragi. Simpulan : Nilai persentase tersebut menunjukkan kejadian adanya jamur Candida albicans pada urine lansia di Desa Wongaya Gede, Penebel, Tabanan sehingga diharapkan lansia selalu menjaga higiene perorangan serta melakukan pemeriksaan secara rutin sebagai tindakan pencegahan sebelum terjadi infeksi kronis dan sistemik.
