Abstract
Hypertension is a cause of cardiovascular disease that often occurs in most people and the world. This is due to the lack of information obtained by hypertensive patients about the right diet. The prevalence of hypertension based on the results of the measurement of the population aged 18 years was 25,8% to 34,1% in 2018. This observation aims to determine the level of knowledge of low sodium diet and blood pressure of hypertensive patients at the Puskesmas Bebandem. Subjects who participated in this observation were 16 hypertensive patients consisting of 10 women and 6 men who were in the area of the Puskesmas Bebandem. The collection of subjects using the interview method with a questionnaire media knowledge of low sodium diet. Blood pressure data was obtained by measuring the patient's testimeter. Most of the subjects understood a low sodium diet (75%). Most of the subjects had a history of stage 2 hypertension (56%). The conclusion of this observation is that knowledge of a low sodium diet can affect blood pressure in hypertensive patients at the Puskesmas Bebandem, Bebandem District, Karangasem Regency.
