Abstract

DESCRIPTION THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE OF BRUSHING TEETH AND TOOTH BRUSHING SKILLS IN CLASS VIII E STUDENTS OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL PGRI 1 DENPASAR YEAR 2022 (The study was conducted on students of class VIII E SMP PGRI 1 Denpasar in 2022) ABSTRACT Dental and oral health has a big role in human life, especially in the process of digestion of food. Dental and oral health is often the umpteenth priority for some people. Where as we know, teeth and mouth are the "gateway" for the entry of germs and bacteria so that they can interfere with the health of other body organs (Kemenkes RI, 2014). The purpose of this study was to describe the level of knowledge of brushing teeth and tooth brushing skills in class VIII E SMP PGRI 1 Denpasar. This type of research is descriptive with a survey design, the number of respondents is 36 students. Data analysis was carried out statistically to determine the percentage and average. The results of the study showed that the largest percentage of knowledge level was 58.33% sufficient category and the smallest was 11.11% less category, with an average of 71.8 being in the sufficient criteria, the largest percentage of skills was 91.67% in the category of needing guidance and the smallest is 8.33% in the good category, with an average of 38.61 being in the criteria for needing guidance. The results of the study on the level of tooth brushing skills based on tooth brushing knowledge, good category skills were 3 respondents (8.33%) with good knowledge category, skills category needed guidance as many as 8 respondents (22.22%) with good knowledge category, 21 respondents ( 58.33%) with sufficient knowledge category, 4 respondents (11.11%) with less knowledge category. The conclusion of this study is the level of knowledge of brushing teeth with sufficient category and brushing skills with category needing guidance in class VIII SMP PGRI 1 Denpasar. Keywords: Knowledge, skills, students GAMBARAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN MENYIKAT GIGI DAN KETERAMPILAN MENYIKAT GIGI PADA SISWA KELAS VIII E SMP PGRI 1 DENPASAR TAHUN 2022 (Studi Dilakukan Pada Siswa Kelas VIII E SMP PGRI 1 Denpasar Pada Tahun 2022) ABSTRAK Kesehatan gigi dan mulut memiliki peranan yang besar dalam kehidupan manusia, terutama dalam proses pencernaan makanan. Kesehatan gigi dan mulut sering kali mejadi prioritas yang kesekian bagi sebagian orang. Padahal seperti yang kita ketahui, gigi dan mulut merupakan “pintu gerbang” masuknya kuman dan bakteri sehingga dapat mengganggu kesehatan organ tubuh lainnya (Kemenkes RI, 2014). Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran tingkat pengetahuan menyikat gigi dan keterampilan menyikat gigi pada siswa kelas VIII E SMP PGRI 1 Denpasar. Jenis penelitian adalah deskriptif dengan desain survei, jumlah responden yaitu 36 siswa. Analisis data dilakukan secara statistik untuk mengetahui persentase dan rata-rata. Hasil penelitian persentase tingkat pengetahuan paling besar yaitu 58,33% kategori cukup dan paling kecil yaitu 11,11% kategori kurang, dengan rata-rata 71,8 berada pada kriteria cukup, persentase keterampilan paling besar yaitu 91,67% kategori perlu bimbingan dan paling kecil yaitu 8,33% kategori baik, dengan rata-rata 38,61 berada pada kriteria perlu bimbingan. Hasil penelitian tentang tingkat keterampilan menyikat gigi berdasarkan pengetahuan menyikat gigi, keterampilan kategori baik sebanyak 3 responden (8,33%) dengan kategori pengetahuan baik, keterampilan kategori perlu bimbingan sebanyak 8 responden (22,22%) dengan kategori pengetahauan baik, 21 responden (58,33%) dengan kategori pengetahuan cukup, 4 responden (11,11%) dengan kategori pengetahuan kurang. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah tingkat pengetahuan menyikat gigi dengan kategori cukup dan keterampilan menyikat gigi dengan kategori perlu bimbingan pada siswa kelas VIII SMP PGRI 1 Denpasar.
