Abstract

LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND UTILIZATION OF BETEL LEAF WATER TO RELIEVE TOOTH AND MOUTH PAIN IN THE COMMUNITY OF TEGAL HAMLET YEAR 2022 ABSTRACT The use of traditional medicine is increasing with the tendency of lifestyle to return to nature. By consuming medicines from natural ingredients which are relatively safer than medicines from chemicals. Betel leaf or scientific name Piper Betle Linn, is a medicinal plant that has many benefits, betel leaf contains antiseptic substances that can kill germs. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of knowledge and use of betel leaf water to relieve tooth and mouth pain in the Tegal hamlet community, West Lombok district in 2022. This type of research is a descriptive study with a survey method. Respondents in this study were the people of Dusun Tegal with a minimum age of 25 years, totaling 36 people. The level of knowledge about betel leaf water is mostly in the good category, namely 77%. Most of the 33 respondents had good criteria (91%) which meant that they used betel leaf water to relieve tooth and mouth pain. In conclusion, most of the people of Dusun Tegal have used betel leaf to relieve tooth and mouth pain. Keywords: betel leaf water, relieve tooth and mouth pain TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN DAN PEMANFAATAN AIR DAUN SIRIH UNTUK MEREDAKAN SAKIT GIGI DAN MULUT PADA MASYARAKAT DUSUN TEGAL TAHUN 2022 ABSTRAK Penggunaan obat tradisional semakin meningkat dengan kecenderungan gaya hidup kembali ke alam. Dengan mengkonsumsi obat-obatan dari bahan alami yang relatif lebih aman dibandingkan obat-obatan dari bahan kimia. Daun sirih atau nama ilmiahnya Piper Betle Linn, merupakan tumbuhan obat yang banyak manfaatnya, daun sirih mengandung zat antiseptic yang mampu membunuh kuman. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan dan pemanfaatan air daun sirih untuk meredakan sakit gigi dan mulut di masyarakat dusun tegal kabupaten Lombok Barat tahun 2022. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan metode survey. Responden pada penelitian ini adalah masyarakat Dusun Tegal yang berusia minimal 25 tahun yang berjumlah 36 orang. Tingkat pengetahuan tentang air daun sirih paling banyak dengan kategori baik yaitu 77%. Sebagian besar (33 orang) responden dengan kriteria baik (91%) yang berarti memanfaatkan seduhan air daun sirih untuk meredakan sakit gigi dan mulut. Simpulan sebagian besar masyarakat Dusun Tegal sudah memanfaatkan daun sirih untuk meredakan sakit gigi dan mulut. Kata kunci: air daun sirih, meredakan sakit gigi dan mulut
